Retail small cells case study

Our client, a UK mobile operator had a requirement for a small cells solution in over 600 stores and distribution centres on behalf of a major UK supermarket chain. The solution was to provide excellent public and operational service for both customers and employees, as well as to boost their own telephony, supporting their mobile virtual network operator service model.

Key criteria for the success were good quality of coverage in key areas and minimising the risk of interference with local macro sites, with minimal disruption and to a rapid roll out schedule.

iWireless Solutions were tasked with the designs, which also required to ascertain model, capacity, locations, scrambling codes (auto or defined) and power assignments (auto or defined). Furthermore, iWireless Solutions were tasked with the request and management of the “provisioning” process for the units once they had been allocated.

To find out more about the large volume of surveys we carried out and designs created for retail stores across the UK click here to read the case study.
